So…everyone has given their thoughts on the events of Tuesday, and I guess it’s my turn now.
I’m not happy. At all.
I’m not dumb. I understand the ups and downs of politics. I understand things that go on with campaigning for public office. But, I also understand that he campaigned on a ticket that spoke to a part of the country that felt they were being left behind. I work in that community, and I see them on a daily basis.
However, he also rattle the cages of a group of people who, if they had their druthers, would wipe me, my daughter, my friends, and my family off the face of the earth. He got them riled up, and now they feel empowered by his bluster. People of Color, members of the LGBTQ community, and women are concerned, and rightfully so. If he manages to follow up on his campaign promises, then we – and they, are in trouble.
But, he won’t be able to follow up on those promises, right? Well…his party controls the House and the Senate, so it’s entirely possible that he could.
Some of you will say that I’m tilting at windmills, screaming into the darkness that doesn’t exist, and trying to scare people. But, I don’t have to do that.
We’re scared enough already.
